Milking is done as well as the regular chores. Dinner has been served eaten and even checked on our field crops. Yet there is plenty of daylight left. So we are weeding our little vegetable garden. We are very lucky to live in a community with many small diverse family farms. We have been doing our best to support our neighbors small farms. How? Well instead of growing a huge garden of our own that takes extra time to care for, we buy local from them. We haven’t bought produce from a chain store since May. We will buy bulk and preserve as much as we can. As winter comes it’s nice to know where our food came from, and even have that taste of summer past.
