A bushel of tomatoes from the Redman’s stand in Chestertown. I buy the over ripe ones as they are better for canning. Buying local and putting our money back into our community as well as knowing where our food came from is priceless to feeding my family. I’m canning cut tomatoes, salsa, and tomato sauce. In the end…even the tomatoe scraps are used. Just ask our chickens.
